I am very happy with the procedure and it has definitely aided dexterity in my hand. I only wish I had gone for the procedure earlier!

It is now exactly two weeks since I underwent an operation for hernia at Keswick Hospital. I have made an excellent recovery (I think!), and want to express my gratitude and appreciation to all at Cumbria Medical Sevices for the admirable treatment I received throughout, from the first appointment with Dr Martin White, when everything was clearly explained, to the day after the operation, when after a full day of operations, he was kind enough to telephone and assure me that the surgery had been successful and to ask how I felt.
There was a month between my G.P's referral and my first meeting with Dr White, and another month before surgery which conveniently took place at Keswick, only two miles from home. Everyone - Doctors and nurses - was kind and friendly and inspired confidence, and the surgery which took about an hour was done under local anaesthetic, and was performed with gentleness, and immediate responsiveness to any minor discomfort experienced. I cannot speak too highly of this excellent Service, which is a tribute to both Cumbria Medical Services and to the NHS, which is so often receiving negative criticism in the media. Thank you to all and especially to 'my team' which looked after me so well.

First class. 3 weeks from visit to the GP, Dr Hooper, to completion of operation - must be a record. Was a little worried about wound but had excellent advice and reassurance from Dr White. Thank you all. Facillities in Keswick hospital fantastic.
