Dr Chaudhri is the clinical lead for CMS dermatology.
He trained at Barts, London and qualified in 1983. After several years in various hospital posts he undertook training in general practice. He was a GP principal in The Maryport Group Practice for 23 years until leaving in 2013 to establish Cumbria Medical Services
In 1992 he developed an interest in dermatology and worked in the hospital dermatology clinics until 2004 gaining experience in a vast range of dermatology presentations in the community. He has organized numerous teaching and training events for fellow GPs with particular emphasis on dermatology.
Having passed the diploma in dermatology examination in 2008 he has been accredited as a GPwER (GP with extended role) in dermatology and has been providing a specialist dermatology service to patients referred by their GP since 2008. The dermatology service sees approximately 5,500 new patients per annum.
The service is supported by a team of consultant dermatologists, a dermatology nurse specialist , HCAs and several other GPs who have attained the diploma in dermatology.
Dr Chaudhri is passionate about patient support and teaching and is regularly involved in teaching GPs in training, established GPs and also practice nurses.
Dr Chaudhri is a Clinical Director of Cumbria Medical Services and is also the nominated individual for the Care Quality Commission.
